In addition, they have to treat their employees well because there is remarkably little personal turnover, which is exceptional for a lunch café. when I go in, they know my name and I know theirs. it is also quite common to see people I know there from all over the city, and it is always great to support a local institution on one of our oldest roads that has proud baltimore vibe.
Love this place. Wasnt even looking for somewhere to eat but this place caught my attention and im glad I stepped in to try it.
Solid cafe with breakfast and lunch in downtown Baltimore. Casual atmosphere with friendly staff. Convenient place for breakfast or lunch meetings. Great selection of baked goods and sandwiches. Always generous portions. Breakfast sandwiches on a bagel are fantastic. Lunch sandwiches can come on bread, in pita or wraps. They have healthy and vegetarian options. They also have indulgent options. Coffee is solid. They often have fresh cut fruit in the teach-in along with Snapple and gourmet juices. All of this is reasonably priced for what you get. All-in lunch is less than $10 and you'll feel more than full.
Neat little place, decent coffee and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly, although they forgot my order. They were very fast about fixing it, though, which was excellent. I ordered a dark roast coffee, which wasn't the best I've ever had but was definitely better than average. My friend ordered a peanut-butter frappe and said it was excellent.
We stopped by for a quick breakfast. The man who took our order was polite and kind. We got two breakfast sandwiches that were much larger than what you get with McD's or BK. They were tasty and fed both of us for about $9. There was local artwork being sold on the walls, and it felt good to support a local business.
