Chu Chin Chow - Barnet

I went with my family for a meal on New Year's Eve. The food was excellent and surpassed our expectations. While it may have been a bit pricey, the portions were very generous and of great quality, making it worth it. It was difficult to choose a favorite dish as everything was spot on, but I highly recommend the sizzling lamb and egg fried rice as main courses. The exceptional and friendly staff, especially Sunny, were the icing on the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area or visiting Hampton Court - you won't find better.

Avoid this restaurant at all costs. The food is of very poor quality, the hygiene standards are lacking, and our complete order was not fulfilled. The staff also were unhelpful.

The staff was carrying food and clearing tables at the same time without washing their hands. When they serve you a drink they touched the brim of the cup. HOW DISGUSTING! They also touched the part of the fork spoon and chopsticks you eat with instead of the handle. VERY BAD HYGIENE. They have a 4 star food hygiene rating , I won't even give them 2 stars. The food is plain awful and tasteless. The Malaysian Laksa colour was orange and so pale and having eaten real Malaysian Laksa in Malaysia the colour is much rider and more flavourful. Furthermore this is ironic as Chun Chin Chow says they are Chinese and Malaysian cuisine and the Malaysian food is no where near the kind you find in Malaysia. Once I even found rust in the Malaysian Laksa. HOW DISGUSTING AND UNACCEPTABLE. The Char Kway Teoy was disgusting and saturated in so much oil , and flavourless and bland. Again no where near proper Malaysian Char Kway Teoy. The waitress provided not bad but atrocious service. 2 waiters running the extremely busy period so had to wait very long to be seated and for them to serve me during the meal. I found a black thing inside my drink and told the waitress and she gave me an annoyed look. Food is very expensive , small portions and very bad value for money. Go to another Chinese restaurant such as Reindeer Cafe in Wing Yip. Way bigger portions and much tastier. ONE OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS I HAVE BEEN TO. DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ACCUSED OF LYING AND WANT BAD SERVICE AND DISGUSTING FOOD.

This place is a gem! Best quality food that I’d compare to any Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Friendly staff and excellent service. I’ll certainly be back again. Travel from West End London to this lovely restaurant but is worth every Penny!!

2 hours now since placing our online order and still not received our delivery. No apologies when we called up twice to find out where our order is. Would not order from them again.
