Salty Blonde Bagel - Barrie

Disappointed in the service I was in today, ordered the smoked salmon on the pumpernickel, Looked amazing, had a fork full of the salmon, which was delicious. Tried to cut through the bagel and struggled, I noticed it wasn’t toasted, waited for the server for 15 min before he came over, so I just ate the toppings off the one half of the bagel. When he finally made his way over, I asked “do you not toast your bagels?” He said “yes, just not for that sandwich” I told him maybe it should be specified on the menu, or asked upon ordering he basically said no, a traditional sour dough bagel isn’t toasted. I was annoyed at this point as he just stared at me, he didn’t ask if I’d like the other half taken back and toasted, so I just slid the dish away and said I’m done. Without saying a word he took it and walked away, ten min later brought one back toasted, I took it to go as my friend was done hers and I didn’t enjoy my experience at all, he didn’t address anything, just gave us the bill. It’s unfortunate, I went home and ate it there, it was absolutely delicious after being toasted.. It would have been much nicer of him to say oh I’m sorry, I’ll take that up with my manager, would you like me to go and have them toast it for you? Basic service skills.

First time coming here and LOVED it. The small plates were delicious we got the 100 layer potato pave and cured ham croquetas and could not recommend them more! The sandwiches were also amazing and have half and full options. Lastly, the servers were so kind and engaging. First time there and it was awesome. The service was excellent and very accommodating considering we had a stroller with us. We went with our servers recommendations and had the Lox and Nino's sandwiches and a celebratory piece of cookies cream cheesecake we shared for our anniversary. Everything was delicious especially that Nino's sandwich...I could eat one everyday! Prices may seem a bit on the high side but the portions were VERY generous. The place looked great and the change table downstairs was very convenient. Can't wait to comeback.
