The Velvet Cactus - Baton Rouge

Many Mexican restaurants are the same. But the food here is definitely a cut over the rest. Service is always great. And you can not beat the outside seats through the pond / well

From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were seated promptly and received exceptional service throughout our meal. Our server, Anna, was fantastic. The food was served promptly and was absolutely delicious. This was by far the best dining experience I have ever had. If we ever find ourselves in BR again, we will definitely be returning to this restaurant. The atmosphere was charming, the decor was lovely, and the music added to the overall experience. The restaurant was also very clean. I would highly recommend this place, 12/10.

House red sangria margaritas, trio dips, Egg rolls are very good! Thought we'd get small plates to share appetizers, but we didn't. Patio dining area is very nice.

Our first time...eat food and service... the egg rolls were definitely worth the ride!

I love this place. Food was excellent. Couldn't sit outside because it was raining, but we're gonna sit back and hopefully on the water. Love the atmosphere, the art and the creative junkie of the one who designed it. It's just beautiful. It's one of the best restaurants I've visited for a long time.
