Le Grand Jardin - Baume-les-Messieurs

We had a lovely meal here last week. The restaurant is a pretty little room in the charming village of Baume. We were well looked after and the atmosphere was great. Our starters, mains and desserts were all yummy. I’ve uploaded photos of each.

A Sunday evening meal was one of the highlights of a long weekend spent in Baume Les Messieurs. A seat seat outside on a pleasant evening with excellent food is difficult to pass up. I have to say I am not a big fan of...the Jura wines but the combination of the food, wine and service was excellent. I had fois gras, chicken and a wicked vodka ice cream. Not the sort of evening I was expecting in this small isolated village so it was a very pleasant surprise. I have to say though that it was not cheap.

This Restaurant, in the middle of the historic district and across from the entrance to the former Abbey, has an excellent menu and wine list, and the preparation is very careful. In the summer, both outdoor and indoor dining are available.

This restaurant, although full, does not attract the crowds it would if it had a real terrace. Lucky customers who eat there anyway. The chef has chosen excellent ingredients, cooked them perfectly. We loved our lunch there.

This restaurant was excellent all round. Set in a small, quiet village the family run restaurant was recommended to us and it did not let us down. Excellent food and very friendly and efficient service. A very good choice for all courses and all at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit if you are in this beautiful and atmospheric area.
