Moonrakers - Beaufort

We came last weekend for dinner, with some friends. First of all this restaurant is stunning, gorgeous view. Our server was wonderful. I had the shrimp and grits, it wasn’t served very hot, and a little bland. My husband got a seafood dish, it was very good. Overall I would probably give this place another chance.

A wonderful experience and fantastic food. Our waiter Chase was very knowledgeable and efficient with drinks and serving our meals.My bf had steak and I has scallops. Both were delicious. The scallops were almost like butter when cut and very tender.The only negative thing I could say is that the presentation of the steak was not very good It was supposed to be a 10 ounce steak. It looked ridiculously tiny because it was plopped in the middle of a huge plate by itself. No sprig of parsley etc. Jut a steak .So all in all it was great food and service. You quickly get your food and it's nice and hot.

My family went to Moonrakers with high expectations. After making an early reservation (since our party included a small child , we was seated promptly. Our waitress was personable and provided good guidance for us as first time visitors to this restaurant. Several members of our group selected the Catch of the Day the waitress had described as including sea bass. When the waitress returned to our table to inform us that they could not serve the sea bass until they used up all the salmon they had on hand we were appalled! Clearly they had sea bass in the house yet they refused to serve us what we requested. When we asked to see the manager, he was glib and not responsive to our request to have the sea bass instead of the substituted salmon. (We enjoy salmon weekly at home and wanted the sea bass that had been initally offered. Clearly the manager could have made that happen to make us happy, but instead he chose to ignore our request for the fish choice that had initially been offered. I will not visit this restaurant again. Terrible customer service by the manager.

We stopped in on a rainy evening to grab some appetizers and drinks. It was our 1st visit and we are very excited to go back for a full dinner experience. Beautiful, multi-level restaurant on the Beaufort waterfront. They even had some local dolphins putting on a show in the bay! Drinks were exceptional with very professional bar staff. The potatoes and dip we got were superb as well! We highly recommend!

Highly recommend. Bar on top is outside with fabulous views of the water and boats as well as the island with wild horses which sometimes you can see them. Very friendly staff. Two other floors with indoor and outdoor seating for full dinner (top bar has limited food). Food is very creative ingredients and would be of interest to foodies. We will be back!
