The Sunshine Takeaway has been a reliable favorite for diners along Ormeau Road for decades. It's a go-to spot for weekend family treats as well as a late-night option after a few drinks. This Chinese restaurant never disappoints. The portions are generous and the quality is consistent for everyone, though it's clear that some diners have larger appetites. After 35 years, I've tried nearly everything on the menu, including the vegetarian dishes, and I've enjoyed every bite. Most of my orders are picked up locally, and I occasionally use their delivery service, which has always been hassle-free. Wait times can vary depending on how busy they are, but I willingly accept the wait since the food is worth it. Some customers can be a bit overly picky, but it serves as a reminder that Sunshine Takeaway has been a staple in the community and contributes to the lively atmosphere of Ormeau. It truly remains the original and the best.

I really enjoy the Chinese curry sauce here; it's quite good, along with the chicken balls and spring rolls! I love the Peking duck, but I wish there was a bit more sauce with it, and I find the portion sizes could be better, which is why I didn’t give it a full five stars. The staff is always polite and helpful, and they offer a great selection of meal deals, accommodating any changes I request. The delivery is always fast! I would definitely recommend this place.
