I had an amazing dining experience, thanks to the skilled chef. All the dishes were freshly prepared, featuring roasted vegetables, perfectly cooked potatoes, and roasted celeriac—a delightful first for me. My partner enjoyed a homemade steak and pea pie, paired with hand-cut chips and delicious mushy peas, along with an incredible jug of meat gravy. I opted for pork with apple compote, accompanied by roasted vegetables and creamy leek, all beautifully presented. Everything was flawless. We were too stuffed for dessert, but we saw other diners enjoying homemade trifles and a variety of sweet treats. I highly recommend this cozy, traditional pub that also has a restaurant, and the staff were very friendly. There’s a temperature control system in place for safety, which is reassuring in these times. This has definitely become my go-to place!

I went in expecting a decent ribeye for the £21 price, but it far exceeded my expectations! It was fantastic! The staff were wonderful, the place was clean, and the drinks were served in spotless glasses. Even my partner was in a good mood, which is quite unusual! Honestly, it was the best steak I've ever had. The only thing I would mention is that it could have used a bit of seasoning. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Black Boy for a great meal. We'll definitely be back soon!

Beautiful graphic pub, full character....staff all very friendly and friendly, with great service in restaurant. we really enjoyed our hearty homemade suppe, followed by frying dinners with the best bratkartoffels we can remember for years! dessert was also impressive, homemade sticky turbid pudding. the prices are very reasonable, so would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
