The Workshop - Benicia

This family-owned restaurant serves Southern cuisine and is open for breakfast and lunch only. They offer chicory coffee on Saturdays and have a selection of rotating daily specials. The atmosphere is casual.

The food here was no different from other places that claim to serve authentic Southern cuisine. It was, at best, mediocre. I ordered smothered pork chops with mac and cheese and a shrimp po' boy, but the seasoning was off. I won’t be returning and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

First time trying the Fried Catfish sandwich oh my gawd…… it is sooo gooood!!!!!

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is simply outstanding. The chicken Alfredo featured on the special menu is a must-try!

Saturday review, so beignets available! The best beignets I've had since I moved to California, but still not quite as good as New Orleans.The Workshop is basically a takeout window, but there are a couple of outside tables, so hopefully you can sit and have your coffee and beignets popping hot.
