Dialo's Cafe - Benton Harbor

The food was amazing! The atmosphere was very welcoming. I had the pork chops and chicken with gravy; both were tender and seasoned just right. The sides included mashed potatoes, spaghetti, and green beans—all were delicious. I can't wait to return!

The service was excellent, and the woman who took care of my food was very kind. However, the food itself was only average. I ordered chicken and greens, and the chicken was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, I ended up throwing away the greens because they tasted and appeared as if they contained pork. I was also quite disappointed with the peach cobbler, as it was the main reason I came in.

I ordered the rib tip dinner with candied yams and mac and cheese, and it was fantastic. I was passing through Benton Harbor on an errand, and it's a real shame that I can't enjoy meals from here on a regular basis. If you compare this spot to Green Street Smoked Meats in Chicago, the rib tips here are clearly superior—no contest. Honestly, anyone who doesn't give this place a five-star rating must have been spoiled by years of amazing food; does that make sense? Do yourself a favor and stop by for a meal. As for parking, most spots are located behind the restaurant.

The restaurant offers generous portions for families at reasonable prices for each dish, and the meals are excellent.

Was in the mood for some different for dinner and this was perfect southern comfort food. The dressing, yams, greens out of this world. Wish they didn’t forget the peach cobbler but next time is a must try.
