Japigo - Bern

Thanks to the reviews from other visitors, I did not have any problems in finding the restaurant. The restaurant is quite big, with a smoking area in patio, which is rare to find in Europe, especially during the cold season. The menu is extensive, from...simple sushi to hot dishes. I ordered a lunch menu and extra portion of eel sushi. The price of lunch menu is 23 francs, which is a good price in Switzerland. For this price you get a simple salad, miso soup and a portion of rolls and sushi/or sashimi on top of the sushi rice/ or some hot dish with fried pork. I took the first option. Sushi and rolls were good, except for the strange roll with some kind of salty (not raw) fish. The salad was not impressive, just green leaves with dressing, and miso soup was too watery. What has really impressed me is the portion of eel sushi, as the eel was so tender and tasty. The service was fast and friendly.

Nice place if you want to eat good sushi and escape from the street crowd. Restaurant is hidden within elegant shopping center, but easy accessible. We enjoyed our meal and ambiance of the place!
