I was taking a random walk on a cold rainy day in Bern and being the coffee junkie I am I immediately noticed the beautiful LM Strada on the counter. I had to taste the coffee, because I'm always looking for new places with great coffee. I ordered an espresso and was a bit disappointed at first sight. Got a lungoish espresso (close to 2oz) with a thin non-existent crema. Not that this is a deal breaker as taste is king, but it was sort of a warning signal. Unfortunately also the first sip was no delight. Very thin and watery mouthfeel, unpleasant bitterness, no sweetness and in general a quite dull tasting espresso. Just to be clear, bitterness is usually not a negative attribute, but it was simply unpleasant. I probably have much higher expectations than most people as I'm a coffee aficionado, but if you write speciality coffee house on your show window I will expect an above average drink. The service was fine.
