La Vela - Bernau am Chiemsee

Excellent service, very kind and helpfull. Portions are big, good quality! The place itself isnt spectaculair but has a nice warm feeling to it. We will come back for sure!

Maybe not what you'd expect in a village as small as Bernau am Chiemsee, but stop in La Vela for some authentic Italian food if you're in the area. The pasta dishes are incredible!

We were walking around in the streets of Bernau am Chimesee late in the evening searching for a restaurant to eat. Very few people seem to know of this restaurant and we found it just by chance. We were surprised to see the restaurant quite full to capacity. The waiters spoke very little English but we would just about manage to read the menu and pick what we wanted. This restaurant is basically an Italian restaurant and there was a huge list of Pizza and pasta in the menu. I opted for a salmon pizza and the rest opted for various other types. My wife as usual did have some vegetarian food The taste of the food was very good. the desserts were also very good. However compared to the kind of similar food one gets in Italy this is slightly different. the cost of the food was very reasonable Strange as it sounded in Bernau, they did say they did not serve pork products.
