Morton's The Steakhouse - Bethesda

I visit Morton's across the US as i know what to expect. I had a pleasant stay here in Bethesa. Rafael was my server and did an outstanding job making my stay enjoyable. The food was prepared to my order, and all was as expected.

The front desk appeared disorganized and confused, even with several empty tables. It took a while to be greeted by a server, and our water and drinks took over 15 minutes to arrive. The food was average, but not worth the high price. Our steak was undercooked, despite ordering it medium rare, and was thinly seasoned. The caprese salad was tasty, but lacked fresh basil (instead there was pesto underneath). The addition of arugula was a nice touch for me, but those seeking a traditional caprese may be surprised. The Gouda potatoes were delicious, but the spinach and mushrooms were bland. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience considering the cost.

We had a great anniversary celebration at this restaurant and would definitely come back for another special occasion. The filet was cooked perfectly to a medium rare and the aged NY Strip was juicy and rare. The side dishes were hit or miss, so I recommend avoiding the truffled corn and going for the spinach and button mushrooms instead. They have a fantastic selection of wines by the glass and the staff is very helpful with recommendations. Just be prepared to pay premium prices. The noise level can be a bit high and some diners may dress casually and use their cell phones during the meal.

The steaks were amazing, with delicious sides and drinks. The servers and staff were courteous and professional. However, our dinner on Mother's Day was disappointing as both the kitchen and staff were overwhelmed and the service was very slow. We still enjoyed our evening but would not choose to dine there again on a special occasion.

Our steaks were very dry. Both the ribeye and the NY strip that we ordered. I was really disappointed. I could've opted for a cheaper steakhouse if I knew better. I also ordered the Sandia Margarita which also tasted like watered down juice. Either than that they played really good jazz and the place was clean.
