I had the fried pork chops, string beans, and fries. Everything was really good! I would have given a five-star rating if the rolls had been fresh. But I absolutely loved the chops!
Yes, it's definitely a diner. The interior is surprisingly spacious compared to its exterior. They offer the usual grill options, including a meat special served with two sides. We tried the hamburger steak topped with brown gravy and onions, accompanied by mashed potatoes and green beans, and we found it to be quite good. We also ordered a chicken sandwich that was well-seasoned. The diner has around 15 tables, and it feels like a close-knit community where most patrons know each other. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the waitstaff is friendly. We’ll surely return when we’re in the area again.
I haven't been to Rhodes since 2005 when I visited my cousins in Beulaville. I can still remember the taste of the southern iced tea, hush puppies, coleslaw, and everything we enjoyed during that last visit. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was very friendly. I loved the cozy atmosphere and the nostalgic sense of community among the friendly locals. Even to the day she passed away at 96 in 2016, my mother longed for one last ham biscuit from her hometown, Rhodes Grill. Unfortunately, we weren't able to bring her one since we live in California. The house where she grew up is gone, replaced by a bank just down the street from Rhodes. They've been in business for many, many years. I highly recommend trying it—you won’t be disappointed!
Never again!!! I ordered the combination seafood plate!
