Everything was great except for one issue. My wife and I shared a large breakfast platter, and we were surprised to see an additional charge for an extra plate—essentially an extra 50% of the breakfast cost just for the convenience of having a second plate. Because of this, we’re likely not to return.

We started with the "charcuterie board," which featured a variety of meats and cheeses. It was delicious and made for a fantastic appetizer. We also ordered soup and salad to share while we waited for our main courses. Unfortunately, the soup and salad arrived at the same time as our main meals, which wasn't what we expected, but it wasn't a major issue. I ordered the day’s catch, which was a black drum fillet. The fish was quite good but had an alarming number of bones. Someone should have inspected the fillet better before cooking it, and I was disappointed to find so many bones—it's unusual for a fish fillet. My wife opted for the steak, which was excellent—perfectly cooked and very flavorful. About halfway through our meal, a homeless individual came into the restaurant and asked for a coffee. Our waiter, “Q” (as he introduced himself), told him to wait and that he would bring him one. However, he never did. The homeless man stood next to our table for about ten minutes, and Q avoided the situation altogether, not returning until the man left. Our meal cost nearly $200, which I don't begrudge, as it's fairly standard for fine dining in Birmingham. However, I felt like we had a more enjoyable experience at other restaurants in the same area in the past. There are plenty of great options near the restaurant, which means they face stiff competition, and, unfortunately, they didn't measure up to others we've visited. Overall, it felt like we paid for five-star food but received only three-star quality and service.

We really enjoyed drinks, dinners and atmosphere. highly recommended!

Food was too salty and not that great for the price. Service was good but we won’t be back.

Step it up Marriott. Food was overpriced and not good, service bad and atmosphere very loud. We will not be back.
