Írjon visszajelzéstI'm originally from Illinois and we're known for deep food pizza. Since the move here we are looking for big pizza, which is not pizza hat or domino. We found it! Loved the deep dish and the thin crust. We're not going back to another pizza place in Bham. We also tried the homemade pumpkin cheese cake and it was so delicious. Recommended by a nice man who regularly visits Tortugas. The staff is very friendly.
I went for a late lunch with a friend. It was clearing out when we got there which was awesome. I wanted to try this place based on a recommendation of a coworker. The service was great and I love the pizza. We both got the thin crust so that is all I can speak to, but it was delicious. Super thin crust, not greasy and the toppings were not overwhelming. I would definitely go back. I also love that it’s close to regions field.
Tortugas is one of the best deep dishes you can find, not just in Birmingham, but anywhere. I've had Lou Malnati's and Gino's East and Giordano's (all Chicago-based deep dish eateries), and Tortugas holds their own against those titans. As an avid deep dish fan this is my go-to place in Birmingham for pizza. I usually get the Carne Special (photo) as a carry-out. As with all deep dish it takes 45-60 minutes from when you order to when it's ready. But I can guarantee you that it's WORTH it!!! We are so lucky to have such amazing deep dish here down south.
Delicious pizza! They saved the day with a great lunch experience after another choice was closed. We typically aren 't Chicago style pizza people, but don 't let that scare you off. Our lunch slice was fantastic and very filling. Everything else looked great too!
I was told about Tortugas several years ago and I was so late trying them out even though I’ve spent many a day around the Southside near Railroad Park/Regions Field. Don’t miss out for years like I did! This pizza was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Birmingham. Service was quality it’s pleasant and overall enjoyable. The ingredients are fresh and as you can see from this photo I couldn’t wait to take a piece. It’s worth the money to me. I think I will try the deep dish one day but this thin crust is a hit and the pizza I have here is on the menu. Circling back to this pizza spot soon!
