Chiquito Birmingham Rubery

My first visit to Chiquitos left me unimpressed. I paid £10 for a salad that was mostly lettuce and peppers, with very little meat. The service was slow and not as good as it is said to be.

I went to Satur for a late lunch on January 5th, 2017. I had been there before and enjoyed the pulled pork taco with sweet potato fries. The other reviews were right - it is a bit expensive, but I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. I also appreciate the variety of fish dishes on the menu. The Rioja wine was very smooth, and the service was average, as I mentioned in a previous review. Overall, I would say it was an okay experience.

Half of the staff atleast try the other half do nothing but huff and puff around to act as if they are working hard! Food is often cold, always over priced and not the nicest either. The management are an actual joke, you're lucky if you see one of them they are always hiding out the back until a complaint rolls in (very often)! And then all they can do is offer you a small discount off of your bill. A meal for two here if looking to cost around £50 so if i was you save your money and spend it somewhere where the staff actually want you to be there!

This restaurant is not as good as Old El Paso, that's the best thing I can say about it.

Visited here just before Christmas with a friend. There were a couple of large parties in so as you would expect the service was extremely slow. eventually we ordered (the same thing chicken fajitas) and it arrived. None of it was sizzling but it tasted ok. Eventually we ordered a dessert and a coffee and then waited ages before getting the bill resulting in us being one the last to leave. The food was mediocre and the service poor. Early the next morning and for the next 3 days my friend and I suffered terribly with what appeared to be food poisoning. We had eaten the same and had both experienced the same outcome several hours later. Needless to say it spoilt the rest of our Christmas. My friend called Chiquitos to let them know what had happened and to see if anyone else had complained. Apparently someone was going to call back. They never did. Not sure we will be visiting this restaurant again in a hurry unless I want rapid weight loss
