I really love Sushi Sushi and have visited many of their locations across the country. All of them, including the one at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, offer amazing sushi. I would highly recommend it! I just wish they were open on Sundays, as I was hoping to satisfy my sushi craving before heading to the hospital with my sick 7-year-old.
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant due to the customer service. A very rude female staff member attempted to overcharge me for my order of 10 sushi rolls, but I only received 9. Despite counting multiple times, she struggled to see that there were 4 rolls in one container and 5 in another, totaling just 9. Instead of rectifying the mistake, she added another roll and tried to charge me for 11, almost implying that I was the one who couldn’t do basic math. I stood my ground, and eventually, after her frustratingly rude demeanor, she finally counted correctly and acknowledged that there were indeed only 9 rolls. She grudgingly handed me my food without any apology for her unprofessional behavior or her trouble with simple addition. This encounter left a very negative impression on me, overshadowing the quality of the food, which I had enjoyed during a previous visit. I won’t be returning after such a poor experience. The staff member in question had a slim build, many tattoos, and seemed to have poor hygiene as she handled the food.
Amazing sushi and welcoming staff. This is likely the best dining option in the hospital. Food: 5 Service: 5
This isn't just a restaurant; it's the SCUH, EDSU POD. Service: 5 stars. Atmosphere: 5 stars.
