Once upon a time, in the service of our country, I (Uncle Sam's second-favorite nephew, if you will was doing my duty in town and decided that I was going to skip out for lunch with some friends to get some eats and drinks. We decided on The Walrus, not because we were Beatles fans, mind you, but because we figured it was the least likely place that our supervisors would look for us on an extended Thursday lunch. Fast forward about 12 years, and I've forgotten everything about that Thursday lunch, except for two important items: 1 The Sam Adams Cherry Wheat was delicious, and 2 Our supervisors never found out (help me keep that secret, will you? . I'm pretty sure I went back to work, but don't quote me on that one. Anyway, I've come back at times through the subsequent years, even if I've never repeated that Thursday lunchtime stunt (you can really only do a stunt once anyway, just ask Evel Knievel. Tell him I sent you . One of those times was just this week when I sat down for an offsite meeting with my current team to talk strategy and shoot the breeze. We must have done well too, because there was no more breeze by the time we got out of there. Maybe it was the garlic fries and crab cakes, or maybe it was the LSD they served me, but I had a grand blast of a time in the mid-to-late afternoon. And before people start getting concerned and contact the authorities, the LSD in question was Indeed Brewing Company's Lavender Sunflower Dates, an impactful and refreshing honey ale, which is apparently different from the stuff that the kids like when they go to those Phish concerts I've been reading so much about. This week's luncheon (or Afternoon Tea, if you're a Hobbit helped continue a long tradition consisting of many lunches and dinners through the years that were always some combination of tremendous, fantastic, delicious and/or bitchin' furious. That last thing is how the kids talk these days, whether or not they go to Phish concerts. You should know that whether you're going to The Walrus for lunch or dinner, for eats or drinks, for a casual meal, for dinner with the family or just taking your special lady friend (or special dude friend, I'm really not trying to say with whom one can lovingly associate out for a nice meal, this continues to stand up as a prime location. Tell them me and Evel sent you, and try the LSD.
An incredible meal and excellent service! This place never disappoints.
Excellent restaurant! Have enjoyed lunch and supper menu's! Last night, I enjoyed the Bailey burger with Sweet Potato Fries, and dipping sauce! Yum! Looking forward to our next meal there!
