The counter service was quite slow, but we didn't wait long to receive our food after ordering. The chicken and roasted bread were excellent—we tried both the original and jalapeño flavors. The sides were a bit hit or miss; the potatoes were good, but the fries were stale and the mac and cheese was also not fresh. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I would definitely come back. Just a heads up, Rex's sauce resembles Cain's sauce but is quite different—it's more similar to Thousand Island dressing. We enjoyed the ranch dressing as well.
Jalapeno Chicken is the best choice! My salad was so delicious that I had to sit in the parking lot to enjoy it.
Great food! I tried the classic meal at Rex, which came with the best roasted okra I've had in quite some time, along with some fantastic fry bread. The meal cost about $8.30 before taxes. The only reason I didn't give them a full five stars is that the sweet tea mixes were a bit off. If you're in the mood for good sweet tea, I’d recommend trying Cane's. I should note that they’ve only been open for a week, so if you're reading this later on, they’ve likely gotten things sorted out. There was a line out the door, but it moved quickly, and the overall wait time was pretty average.
