Írjon visszajelzéstVisited for Sunday lunch after a trip to the Bevan Stones. Very short menu but our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. Me and my wife chose the beef and it was excellent. Two very large slices of good quality beef, cooked perfectly. Came with a huge Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli and gravy to die for. We didn’t have starters but the puddings were very good and two courses were more than enough. Altogether excellent!
Went to Tredegar to research the old ironworks and see Bedwellty house so popped in to the Orchard tea room for lunch. What a lovely little place! There was plenty of light bites to chose from and we chose the chicken curry and chips which was delicious and well worth £6.99. My husband enjoyed the hot minestrone soup and roll for £3.50. The room was light, clean and pleasant with fresh flowers on all the tables. I am sure in the summer with the door open and the outside tables for sitting it would be really nice. Must say the say the two ladies working there were lovely, helpful and friendly. Would love to go regularly but it’s a bit far to go from Cardiff!
Visited Bedwellty House in Tredegar on a Saturday afternoon. It was extremely busy with a wedding and large hen party group having afternoon tea. We had lunch in the Orchid house tea room overlooking the park. The menu was limited that day due to the wedding. However, what we had to eat was lovely and well presented. Some of our group finished off with jam and cream scones. The coffee was very nice. The service was excellent. We were very impressed and look forward to returning soon. A lovely afternoon.
Came here twice during my brief stay in Tredegar for tea snacks each time. The staff are excellent, the service fast efficient. They had a selection of cakes including a special offer cake each time we went custard slices the first time black forest gateaux the second both of which we tried were delicious. There was a small food crafts market on Sunday afternoon of which we bought plenty so the cafe opened an outdoor service area doing hot snacks of burgers, hot dogs etc. Along with ice creams cold drinks as well. There was also an art exhibition the park itself is lovely to walk around on a nice day sunny day.
This dining experience was very disappointing for several reasons. Firstly, the service was extremely poor. Despite booking a vegetarian afternoon tea, a regular tea was brought out initially and we had to wait for the correct (pre-ordered) tea to be served. One member of our party did not want afternoon tea and instead requested sausage and mash. Unfortunately, the dish that was brought out was lukewarm and the gravy had become a glutinous lump. It was sent back and the replacement was warm, but the mash was dry and the sausages were small cocktail sausages. The drinks we ordered took 40 minutes to arrive, and the hot chocolate did not come with the cream or marshmallows we had requested. The rest of the food was just okay, nothing special.
