Husky - Blue River

It used to be a good spot, but not this time. We stopped at Blue River while reminiscing about our weekend trips to Victoria from Edmonton, where Husky stations were reliable pit stops for a decent meal and a bit of rest. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case at the Blue River location. The food was the worst we encountered on our trip. I ordered a simple dish of chips with gravy, but the chips were barely cooked and the gravy tasted like an old powder mix—quite revolting, actually. Marla tried a piece of chocolate mousse cake that resembled old pudding rather than a fresh dessert. I’ll give them some leeway since it was a long weekend Monday, but this cake seemed to be more than four or five days old. Overall, it was quite disappointing. Next time we drive through Blue River, I’ll definitely be looking for another option.
