What the Broken Stone Restaurant calls pizza is basically a round halfway decent crust filled with toxic tasting cheese and toppings. We bought 2 for a parents birthday party and even someone that usually eats anything could barely eat it. I'm sure the owner knows people will eat anything if it's filled with salt and artificial flavorings. I don't like to trash local establishments but I need to make an exception here as there is a good pizza place called Bella Sera run by Europeans one minute down main street that is real pizza and is owned by people that care more about what Americans eat than some of our own citizens. Maybe a response might be...as long as people eat it and you turn a big profit then why use quality ingredients??
So I decided to order from Broken Stone Pizza Company in Kerrville. The food was okay, not great. Sub-par compared to other pizza restaurants, and that includes chain pizza restaurants. I?ve never met more obnoxious staff at a food establishment than this husband wife that supposedly manage the joint. If they manage and/or own the place, I?m not sure why anyone would patronize the business. No customer should ever be spoken to in the manner I was spoken to nor treated so rudely simply for asking a question. The male is a b and the female is a c !
The pizza here was great and one of the better spots in the area. The pizza was pretty balanced. The crust is on thin side which was great to me as I don't like crusts that are thick and they had a good amount of toppings per slice. We also had their little pizza roles as well and they were pretty good too. They came out super hot and fresh. Because they make everything to order the pizzas can take a little bit of time to make but so long as you plan for that little bit of extra time it's worth it. I will be going here again when I find myself in the area.
So glad we stopped in for dinner the first night of our honeymoon! We stuck with a classic pizza which was so good and were surprised with a delicious slice of cheesecake!
Pizza was great and a nice environment. Service was ok, not sure if they were having a bad day or what but I enjoyed my company and the time spent there. It's a BYOB! so if you love pizza with wine or beer, don't forget to bring it with you.
