It used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but ever since the ownership change last year, it's been a huge letdown. We visited again last spring, hoping for an improvement, but that was the last time I ordered the Haddock sandwich. It was so tiny that I was embarrassed to even send it back. On top of that, it was dry and lacked flavor. The coleslaw wasn't much better either. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
I met a couple friends at Georgio 's this past week. I had the Georgio 's favorite salad. It was amazing. Impossible to eat the whole thing. Their house dressing is a fantastic balsamic vinergarette. Their wonderful homemade bread with olive oil /or butter is the best. I would highly recommend Georgio 's!
To start, I had the caramelized onion soup along with a side salad dressed with their house balsamic vinaigrette. If you’re not fond of a salad drenching in dressing, I suggest asking for the dressing on the side. They also offered a delightful small loaf of crusty sourdough served with what I believe was garlic butter mixed with red pepper—truly delicious! For my main course, I ordered a medium Fillet Mignon. It arrived a bit more on the medium-rare side, but it was still fantastic. It came with a baked potato on the side, and I enjoyed a glass of their Malbec, which was quite subtle and pleasant. The service was wonderful; my server was attentive and not at all rushed. She even kept my salad aside until I finished my soup. The restaurant has a nice local atmosphere, and I noticed at least two tables with what seemed to be regular patrons. This place would be perfect for a lunch or dinner date, or a nice family gathering on the weekend. Unfortunately, I was too full to try dessert, but I would definitely recommend this place!
Georgio's is a beloved fixture in the Zoar area, celebrated for its vibrant bartender and inviting atmosphere. We dined there last night and discovered that there's a new chef in charge. Originally from New Orleans, he has infused the restaurant with a delightful New Orleans flair. The Bourbon Street pasta was outstanding, and we were truly impressed that he created a special vegetarian version for a member of our group. If you haven't visited in a while, it's definitely worth a stop!
