Cates Italian Garden - BOLTON LANDING

My family and I have been dining at this restaurant for nearly 17 years, and we absolutely love it! The food is consistently delicious, and we are always pleased with the quality of the meals, drinks, and atmosphere. It never lets us down! I highly recommend it! The staff are very friendly, and it’s a great place for families to enjoy a meal together. The service is exceptional!

I would like to update my previous review. I've been back a few times since my last visit (not many other dining options in Bolton Landing). They've made improvements in both their service and seating arrangements. The food remains consistently excellent, and my personal favorite is the chicken tetrazzini. It's definitely worth the trip!

This is a reliable Italian restaurant featuring tasty pasta and pizza selections. While the menu isn’t extensive, there are some standout dishes such as the creamy tomato basil soup and chicken piccata. However, I would recommend skipping the tetrazzini, as it wasn’t very impressive. The seating options are plentiful, both indoors and outdoors, but it can get busy, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. One downside is that they charge for soda refills without notifying customers (the menu doesn’t mention it either), which resulted in my bill having an unexpected $12 charge for Diet Cokes! lesson learned!

We 've always wanted to try this place on our summer vacations, and tonight was the night. We came with a party of 11 and everyone loved their meals. The lasagna was especially good, as was the pasta with vodka sauce. The cod special was also outstanding. Not much else to say, just a really solid dining experience. We 'll definitely be adding Cate 's to our list of go to places in the Lake George area.

Walking through Bolton Landing, we were drawn in by the cozy entrance, tented with fireplaces. The decor inside here is beautiful! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs while my parents both ordered the lasagna as it was described as buddy 's special recipe. My mother felt like they overdid it with the basil and my dad even commented that the food tasted like they were just getting rid of what they had for the season. My mom was later very sick that night. My spaghetti and meatballs seemed decent until I almost chipped my teeth on what seemed like pieces of bone. The hostess was nice and welcoming and so was our main waitress. Other staff that dropped off our check or napkins, threw it on our table and said here you go without even stopping as they walked by. I want to note we are in the off season for this area and the restaurant was not busy on a Sunday night. I would rather try another restaurant on this road next time I 'm in the area.
