Dom Jose - Bombarral

One of the best restaurants in Portugal!!! My family took me here when I was around 4 years old. And now I am 23, and I still want to go back to the place where food is magical! Dom Jose! Is my favorite restaurant! I recommend everything on the menu!

We went to this recommended place in Bombarral after going to the nearby Buddha Eden Sculpture garden (2 kms away). After walking around in the bright sunlight and wind, Dom Jose is the perfect place because it's got an lovely feeling to it, friendly staff, and great Portuguese food. There is an outside terrace with a grapevine ceiling and inside has a nice calm energy. We ate inside, in a small dining room, after a 10 minute wait outside. (It was packed on a Wednesday at 1pm) The place is clean, small and comfortable, with a soothing color palette. Some of the better restaurant chairs I've sat in, lol. (hey, when you're tired...) The kind of place that shows that people care about the details. Everything was really good. We live in Portugal about 15kms away but aren't Portuguese. This is good fresh Portuguese food and a cut above the usual. You may have a little trouble finding this place as it's in a residential street not downtown, but it's worth a bit of persistence even if you take some wrong turns following Siri as she keeps recalculating the twists and turns. For two of us we had 1 beer, 1 sparkling water while waiting, 1 half bottle of wine, two meat entrees which came with rice, fries and sauteed veg, a small mixed salad, 2 deserts, one coffee, plus the olive, bread and butter for total of 42 Euros. Honestly, cannot find fault with the place. Very satisfactory, and didn't need dinner later, we were so full.

The group ordered a selection of starters between us. Each very well put together and presented. The scrambled egg and Portuguese sausage was a knock-out even though before ordering everyone was a little apprehensive. The main courses came with the pork strips exquisite along with an excellent steak and a very good chicken. Desserts were good. The biscuit layered cake was good although a little too sweet for my palate. The almond mouse on the other hand hit all the right notes. Reasonable pricing and a good house red made an excellent night out.

Para mim é simplesmente um dos melhor Restaurante da Zona Oeste , comida caseira soberbamente confecionada !! O atendimento espetacular pelo dono Nelson !!

Ultimamente tem sido difícil encontrar restaurante sem nada a apontar, mas este supera todas as espectativas. Serviço, comida e preço excelentes. A repetir com certeza. Necessário sempre marcação.
