Hill Top Drive-in - Boone

Worse burgers in town and way over priced. For seafood try Mike 's Inland. For burgers go to cardinal or comeback shack. This place has gone down hill since Mike took over, and it wasn 't doing to great before then either. Once a decent greasy spoon.. I 'd say this is one of worst restaurant in Boone now. Stay away from the food truck too that 's associated with this place.

Owner and staff promote their politics over social media, and in the restaurant itself. The foods inconsistent and not that great, cookout has way better milkshakes.

Hill Top has improved tremendously since Captain Jim's took over. Before, I thought the quality of the food was very poor and the restaurant itself was dirty and smelled of smoke. Now, the food is delicious and the restaurant is nicely decorated and no longer smells of smoke! The menu is mainly the same as it was before, with the addition of very fresh and yummy seafood. The shrimp plate with fries is my favorite! The seafood is a bit pricier than the rest of their menu, but I guess that's the price you pay for bringing fresh seafood to Boone, NC. The famous milkshakes are still there too...better than a Cookout milkshake in my opinion! I will be a Hill Top regular from here on out when I visit Boone!

Went there for the first time today. Food was great. I had the hill top burger and fries. Took a little longer but that's okay because I know it was cooked fresh. I will be back for sure

Okay, decided to try this place after hearing friends rave about the clam chowder, and they were right! Lots of tender clams and nice and creamy...perfect for a cold Boone day. The fish and chips are also good nice and flavorful and neither fish nor fries are greasy. You can also get grass fed beef hamburgers! Jim started with a food truck; now he's taken over the old Hilltop Grill, and it's a good move!
