Swifts Sports Club - Booval

Had my grandaughters 21st in the function room.Very unprofessional would not recommend this place for a function.So many things from beginning went wrong.Too many to mention.Asked that the manager to contact me but this has not happened.

It's hard to get into the place. Nobody at the front pokie desk. Into the right bar and food. Drink waiter was out somewhere?The food that was there was not suitable for blokes wanting food after a funeral service in the heat. It was poor to terrible atmosphere and grotty. Boganville Club in Ipswich.

Food was good value for money. Good service and quick meal serving. Bowling club atmosphere. Good place for dinner. Play area for kids and kids menu.

Now that Swifts has 'ironed out' the kitchen problems by changing the kitchen staff, there is a lot less yelling' and noise. The food (quality) has picked up, and there are 'bargains' to be had (if you are early). The Seafood Basket is 'hearty' and well priced (if you are a member - membership is cheap.)We took some overseas visitors there and fed the five of us for less than $40 by buying the meal of the day, and desert.All in all, a nice experience (now) if you accept that it is a 'Sports' club and not a (fancy) restaurant.

They provide a fair meal for great value. We like the roast meals, but it ranges from excellently cooked to dry at times. Tables are special tops with basic chairs. You will not get better value anywhere in Australia or elsewhere. This includes the fillet steaks at night during the week- what value and they are usually cooked to your orders.
