Firechief Pizzeria - Boroondara

Sitting here still waiting for food 30 minutes since we had our last service. Incredibly poor. Kitchen closure wasn't announced after our 30 minute wait!

Gourmet pizzas are very good. Charcuterie board is excellent and good value. They do group bookings well - Recently ate here with a group for $30 per head and there was much left over and everyone left full and content. We also came here on a Thursday night when it was uncommonly full and the manager and one wait staff did a heroic effort at servicing the unexpected crowd. Well done - we were impressed!

We were at Firechief for lunch as we were celebrating a 17th birthday. We have 2 children with us 11 and 9 years old. We arrived at 1.45 in a Saturday and the restaurant was totally empty. The menu clearly stated that kids eat free. We ordered spaghetti Bolognese for the kids and the Owner said that he will give the older kid a special serve when we inquired about the size of kids meal. We were prepared to pay for the $ 5 difference. First of all the order was left out. It finally came in an aldult serve and we were charged the full price even though " kids eat free ".When we queried the bill, the Owner became rude, shouted and spoke over my daughter. I would have given the restaurant one star but my pizza was very good.

I ate lunch here recently with a friend, as I've been to Firechief before for breakfast, and this was handy location wise.I had chicken, salad and polenta chips and my friend had a salad.The serving sizes were huge - definitely value for money.My friends salad was full of mostly greenery.I found the chicken nice, but not a stand out dish by any means. The polenta chips - I wasn't a fan, although I've eaten it before at a different restaurant and liked it.Service was good.I thought the food was nice, but average. Nothing I'd rave about or recommend to people, and that's why this restaurant received 3 stars only.

To be charged corkage of $10 per bottle is pretty steep. All meals were nice except mine was given to another table and I had to wait another 15mins before mine arrived. Service was excellent.
