Very nice little hotel very quiet well located to recommend
Stopped at this unassuming spot by pure chance on the way to Spain, mainly so we could visit the romanesque church at Hix close by. There was a public parking just opposite and we didn't want to deviate too much from the road. We meant to stop for a quick coffee but they were welcoming so we decided to stay for lunch. Several table of local business types looked as if they came there regularly. Service was friendly and efficient (the son of the owner? we wondered) and we had a well prepared Charlotte of aubergines and a main course size plate of tapas, both with delicious pommes frites. Both were tasty and not expensive and we left within an hour refreshed and pleased. Would recommend. It is an hotel too.
We were a party of 10 for lunch, having arrived by The Yellow Train . Prebooked table was ready and waiting. Order was taken promptly in spite of the restaurant being quite busy.Set menu at 15 euros was great value. The Tapas plate at €18 was superb and very hearty with a bowl of crisp chips and some tasty aoli. Green bean salad was crunchy and fresh. Steaks were good for the price. Service was of the highest order by the young man who single handed looked after all the tables with a smile and an expIanation of the regional dishes. We aim to return before this little gem changes hands at the end of May new owners.
Very good report quality price Very sypas
