Hallowed Grounds Cafe (newstead)

We didn't have a great experience here today. The food was very average. My friends egg had runny liquid all over the plate, and when we queried it, we were told it was butter. It didn't look like butter. I unfortunately didn't take a photo of her food until she had eaten some of it, and the runny liquid wasn't as obvious. The scrambled eggs didn't taste great, so my friend didn't eat her food and went up to buy something from the counter. Mine was ok, but nothing great. I definitely don't think the bagel is worth $20! I don't know if I'll bother with this place again. I think if you stick to the counter pre-made food, you should be fine. I would avoid the cooked to order food.

The food is delicious and very cheap compare to other places around the same area. The menu is simple which is a good thing some times. The place is kids and dog friendly. I really loved this cafe! The eggs were delicious and came with soy sauce which was an interesting addition. Coffee great! Smoothies and milkshakes were also enjoyed, as were the waffles. Pretty good prices compared to others around! And the cafe itself was lovely, tucked away in the corner of Gasworks. Will be coming back! Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast
