Írjon visszajelzéstJust had lunch today with friends from Canberra, this was their first time here, but our third. As usual the steamed pork dumplings were fantastic to start. Next was the duck, fish and beef dishes. All were well prepared, presented and plentiful. Superb tasting dishes with some of the fluffy rice we always expect and get here. Well priced, try the Chinese beer. Very tasty.
Chinese style decor. Low chairs and high dining tables .... not the most comfortable. Parking on strip and quite limited. Many restaurants along this strip. Average Canberra restaurant.
We visited this restaurant as a group of five at a busy time and were most impressed by the courteous service.Great atmosphere.Five different items were ordered and all were very generous, tasty and reasonably priced.I would be more than happy to return here to sample other dishes from the very extensive menu.
This restaurant leaves higher profile restaurants in Sydney way behind in quality of food, staff service and value for money. The dumplings are fantastic, freshly made by the lady you pass as you enter the restaurant. We were welcomed pleasantly and shown to a table promptly by polite staff. There was so much to choose from we asked the large group of people (of Asian extraction) next to us what they recommended and one answer "everything" said it all.We thoroughly enjoyed our selections which was served promptly by pleasant staff were absolutely delicious and when we paid our bill we realised what great value for money it was.The staff are walking up and down the restaurant so that if there are any problems they are on hand.We will definitely be going back next time we are in Canberra.
Yat Bun Tong goes far beyond the expectations for a dumpling house. Under Eddie's tutelage, a friendly staff will guide you thru the extensive, wide ranged yummy-looking pictures of their house specialties. Prices are 10% higher than an average Asian option, but worth every penny. The Shanghai Pan buns is a must try half-fried version of the juicy steamed Shanghai dumplings, that can hold more juice due to its thicker skin (it's a bun, not the regular dumpling skin), in a well served portion. Elsewhere you get 6 dumplings per portion of Shanghai, while here it comes with 10.All dishes served with Bok Choy will present the vegetable cooked to perfection, all-buttery-yet-lightly-crunchy, showing the level of care in the prep of the very basic items. The deep-fried battered options come nicely fried and crispy (not oily and soggy).Recommended: Shanghai Pan buns, Braised Duck with Vegetables, Chinese Mushroom with Vegetables, Eggplant Hot Pot.5 stars to Eddie, Yang Yang and staff.
