Kopitiam Street Food Bar - Brisbane

It's right next to my gym, and serves quality hot food with enough protein. Works for me! The curry chicken is absolutely delicious. Very convenient location and a go to for a quick cheap and cheerful feed!

I was in a bit of a hurry when I popped into Kopitiam Street Food Bar and was looking for lunch on the run.  They recommended the Braised Pork Rice, both as a Chef's Selection, but also because it would be very quick. I was in and out in under three minutes and for under $10 I had a large bowl of braised pork belly, hard boiled egg, greens and a generous serving of rice. Good value and the service was fantastic, but the flavour and texture left something to be desired...Not bad, but not good either.  The biggest let down was the lack of sauce and the fact that the greens were translucent and without flavour.  This rated a 2.5. I'll plan to return for the purposes of trying their Malaysian White Coffee and the Roti Canai at some point, but primarily because it is local and convenient.  For my money, the best Malaysian hawker food can be found at PappaRich (Wintergarden).

Had the Roti wirh vegetarian curry. Taste really good and I love the spicy and the flavor that brought from the coconut milk; they mixed those things really really well. Will try another food next time.

I had assam fish & my friend had curry chicken. The 2 type of curry literally tasted the small (i.e. for those who are not from S.E Asian & had really authentic curries before). Both are only spicy hot & the food portion is a joke! Seriously. Whoever gave this place a good review on other food website deserves to be shot! Or obviously couldn't tell the difference between good Malaysian food or just the Aussie version of Malaysian food. If you want to tell really good Malaysian food, check out this Malaysian food place at Pineland Shopping Centre in Sunnybank called Sri Mahkota. Now that place truly serves good Malaysian food with generous serving & at a really good reasonable price too!!
