The food was delicious and the service was efficient with personality and a smile. Dinner is BYO and we had a variety of bottles but it was never too much effort for the waitress to change the glassware. Planning another trip back soon!
Walking across the road towards Same Same cafe, I was hankering for some pancakes, waffles or pastries and a large cup of coffee. I made a bee-line for the dessert cabinet and was disappointed to see a only a small selection of cakes. I took a seat outside and asked to see the menu hoping for pancakes or waffles. The Menu arrived with a carafe of iced water. A nice touch and it was much appreciated. I got no joy from the Menu and I settled for a Cafe Latte in large mug. While waiting for my coffee I had three glasses of water while enjoying the feel of the afternoon sun. My single shot Latte arrived after 15 minutes. It was hot with a nice aroma but it was not a robust flavoured coffee bean. Rating: 3.5/5.0
I came here in quite a large group for dinner and ordered a starter and the $46 combination of a parmesan cannelloni entree and beef cheek and sirloin roast main. The food was very good, with a rich and creamy sauce on the cannelloni and tender cuts of beef; the roast pork was also well cooked with a good crisp crackling and succulent meat. However, the service was polite but quite slow and took over two and a half hours for all of our food to arrive, so would be a poor choice for those in a rush. The decor is quite nice and modern, but somewhat impaired by the harsh white down lighting along the windows. Given the higher end price for dinner, Same Same But Different makes a good suburban competitor to the higher range restaurants in Brisbane, with comparable quality and more affordable prices, and is definitely worth a visit.
This place is very deceptive, looks small from the outside but on entrance this place really opens up. Sat in the sun because of the cold chill that lingered around this morning and started with the norm, four shot flat white which was beautiful, strong and certainly woke me up. Main meal I had the "piggy in the middle". The coffee came relatively quick however once we ordered the mains the wait was quite long. Eventually came and very impressed with the presentation and construction of the burger. Even though it looked like the leaning tower of Pisa every individual layer was well cooked, now I didn't eat this the conventional way, I deconstructed it from the top down. One thing I forgot was to ask how the egg was cooked as it came out well done, would have liked it sunny side up - my bad. The bun was extremely soft and what I loved was the fact this burger was drowning in sauce, it had the perfect amount on both top and bottom.
If you come here for dinner, expect a set menu, usually a 2 course meal. The steak was tender, fatty and juicy whilst the pork was crispy and flavoursome. Dessert was also very well done. A pleasant surprise for what looks like a local cafe. This place is indeed, same same but different.
