Island Cafe - Broad Channel

Kosher Chinese? I didn't know there was such a thing. I ordered the Mu Shu Beef. But I had to remind the waiter that it comes with Hoisin sauce. He looked at me like I was from Mars. So I said “what about plum sauce?”. He didn't know what that was either. So he went back to the kitchen and asked the chef. Finally he came back with the Hoisin sauce. My day was not ruined.

I hosted a breakfast there to commemorate the first anniversary of my fathers death and was so pleased. The setup was exactly what I wanted and the food was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely use them again.

Service is terrible they are more interested in conversing with each other than taking care of the customer I sat there for 20 minutes before my Sushi came out. The place was empty and there was no reason for me to have to wait. They have another business on the same block and they keep going back and forth between the two of them but taking care of a customer is the last thing on their mind. They also tried to upcharge me on the sushi and it was not listed on their menu or anywhere.

The food is good and the prices are affordable! The menu has a lot of different option too. The staff was attentive as well. I would recommend eating here.
