Beckenham Tandoori - BROMLEY

I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. They have a wide selection of dishes that are very filling. The food was delicious and the delivery was fast and convenient. Ordering online was also easy.

We have been ordering curries from Indian Ocean for more than ten years and we absolutely love it. We have found that the quality of curries elsewhere often disappoints us, and we always find ourselves craving the food from this restaurant. Even though we now live in Kent where the curries are not only of inferior quality but also more expensive, whenever we are in town we make sure to order from Indian Ocean. The staff are friendly, the food is prepared quickly, and we always receive a bonus dish. The only criticism we have is that sometimes the portion sizes of the sauce can be quite small, but that is a minor issue. In our opinion, the curries from Indian Ocean are the best in the country!

I was disappointed to find that the dish I ordered contained red-colored chicken, despite being told that there was no food coloring in it. I specifically asked about this because the person dining with me has intolerances to some food coloring, particularly the bright, artificial colors. If you have similar intolerances, be cautious when dining at this restaurant.

The worst Indian dishes I have ever had! Nothing tasted Indian or near to nice. I was so disappointed that I was near to tears. I fancied something different that the usual and thought Indian because of the different spices they use to cook their curry and other dishes and the clay ovens. The Lamb Shajahani and the Butter Chicken Tikka were the worst. It was a yellow runny sauce with 4 pieces of lamb and chicken cubes thrown in it and both dishes were sooo sweet they could have been a dessert drink. Saag Paneer was also like a thick drink. The spinach and paneer look like they were put through a blender. The potatoes in the Bombay Aloo was on the contrary done big chunks of potatoes. It is like they could not be bothered to cut the potatoes in cubes. The chapatis were are thick as stuffed parathas and the pillar rice was white rice with some green colouring melts here and there. Horrible experience! No other way of describing it.
