It offers some of the best Guyanese food I've ever tasted—definitely in my top five. The restaurant is clean, and the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant, with no loud or inappropriate music. Unlike many West Indian restaurants, the wait time is minimal, and they also provide seamless delivery.
This was my first visit to a Guyana-style restaurant, and I was truly impressed. I sampled the cook-up rice and a small vegetable soup. The subtle hint of coconut in the rice was the highlight of the meal for me. I can't wait to attempt this Guyanese recipe at home soon. I highly recommend giving it a try!
I may have just had an off day, but the rice was not cooked well. I also ordered the curry chicken, but it had more spice and pepper than actual curry flavor. It seemed like they were just lightly sprinkling in the curry like a seasoning. If you're not too concerned about the actual taste of curry and the rice happens to be cooked properly on other days (and not too dry), it could be a decent place to eat. I should also mention that the curry and rice were a bit pricey.
The chicken soup is fantastic—rich and delicious. It's just what you need when you're feeling unwell. It comes with generous portions of chicken, cassava (yuca), dumplings, green bananas, and corn. I will definitely order it again!
Germans has always come through for me! The Mixed Soup was the perfect pick for a chilly Monday in New York. It was filled with generous chunks of chicken, yam, cow foot, beef, and other ingredients that really hit the spot. I saved the Fried Channa for tonight's dinner.
