We had an absolutely superb meal at La Rambla. The menu we were given wasn't translated to Engish, and the extremely pleasant waiter didn't speak English. Not speaking any Spanish, we looked online before we arrived. For starters I had Chicken fritters, and my friend had Ham fritters. For the main we had a seafood Paella which was stuffed with Prawns, Octopus, Cuttlefish, and 2 fillets of Cod. It was amazingly tasty.
When I got there I was impressed by their intention to recreate some of Barcelona's typical deco. And I expected also to find resemblances with the Spanish cuisine... Yet, it was far from that ... there were no shrimps (funny for a restaurant that has shrimps in 50 % of its dishes). I had some patatas bravas (the sauce was a mix of mayo with ketchup, far from salsa brava or aioli), some croquetas de jamon (nothing to do with those you eat in Mercado san Miguel, Madrid) and a salmon salad with avocado and queso manchego ... well the avocado was not ripe and the queso manchego was actually mozzarella. The service was nice and the sangria was good... but the food was disappointing unfortunately.
