Basa Fogadó - Bucin

Thanks again to people that recommended me this place. Not too far from Toplita but it’s worth a 15min drive. The restaurant is a Hungarian specific, decorated in the same style. Terrace outside is lovely. The plates are big and absolutely delicious. Servers are nice and kind. Don’t miss the desert: Somlói A place to return!

I really wanted to like this place. The setting is beautiful with lovely views all around. Their is beautiful outside seating with a playground. Thats it for the positives We waited for our food for 2 1/2 hours. Yes. 150 minutes. Even the playground cant keep a 3 year old happy for that long. We were starving when it came. It was horrible. Overcooked, cold. Horrible Wait staff rude. No one checked on us. Never go here

Got here for lunch on a Saturday. But the place was very crowded and, since we didn 't have a reservation, we didn 't eat. Lesson learnt. However, we got the phone number and, after an afternoon of watching the amazing wild daffodils in the area we called and made a dinner reservation. When we got there the place was full of people and joy, animated by two jolly musicians singing upbeat traditional music. And, with a few pauses in between, the atmosphere remained the same throughout our stay. Staff were attentive and helpful, service was faster than expected considering the degree of occupancy. We started with a small on the house appetizer, greaves paste, a thing of beauty and taste we gorge on whenever we find it. Then we 've had some traditional dishes like potatoes and cheese soup, chicken paprikas, basa toros a house specialty consisting of pork knuckle slices with cabbage and polenta and Brasov style (small cut pork chop) with potatoes. As you can see, no one was trying to compensate for the lost lunch :D All dishes were tasty, hearty, simple, delicious. Accompanied by some local beer, home made lemonade, a sort of traditional fruit juice drink butyburutty (the non alcoholic version which we found too sweet though) and a strong coffee to last me on the long way back. Prices were more than reasonable considering the hospitality, the good food and excellent atmosphere. Definitely a place to revisit, totally recommended!

Every food is very tasty. The atmospherein familiary and service is also very good and fast. 100% recomand!

I was there two times and I was amazed by the taste of the food, the hospitality and the atmosphere. I totally recommend this place!
