Tavern On Main - Buda

If you’re looking for a fantastic spot for drinks and dinner in Buda, TX, this place is a must-visit! The food here exceeds the typical tavern fare by a long shot. I ordered the Jalapeno Mac and Cheese, craving some comfort food on a chilly night, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. If I had this sitting in my own kitchen at home, I would have devoured it all in no time. On a previous visit, I tried a hamburger and, honestly, it ranks as one of the best I’ve ever tasted in my life. No exaggeration—I’m telling you, it was the best burger! Next to me, someone ordered the chicken and Andouille sausage dish, and I couldn't help but wish I had chosen that too! They have a great selection of beer, wine, and handcrafted cocktails. The owner, Julie R., keeps the atmosphere welcoming and knows most of her customers personally, paying close attention to everyone. The vibe is incredibly friendly—like a Cheers setting where everyone knows your name. In my conversation with Julie, she shared her passion for the live music that features at the tavern. This Friday, they have Carson McHone Acoustic playing, which sounds like a treat. So, great food and drinks, excellent service, live music, and affordable prices make Tavern on Main a popular destination!

This restaurant offers some of the best food in Buda. The staff is incredibly friendly, and it’s one of my favorite spots to relax, enjoy some music, or catch a football game.

I love this place. Casual, small town feel with a friendly staff. I was surprised by the delicious food path over typical bar food expectations! Try the hummus plate and the Cuban sandwich. Yum!

We were in the Buda/Kyle area and looking for an early dinner/late lunch option. We called ahead to see if their website had their full menu. (Bar food burgers and sandwiches, not dinner entrees) Cody was very patient and helpful. We decided to check it out. Josh was very helpful and suggested great options. Wings were pretty good (huge) Hummus was yum. Grilled cheese is a great option. Portobello Mushroom was good. Beer!!! Well yeah! Hooray beer!!! We asked to speak to the manager, to offer praise and feedback. She was a little rushed. Managers NEED to slow their roll and talk to patrons...especially new patrons. We are exactly why they are there. Give Tavern on Main a try.

Great little spot. Good beer, music at night, and the food is fantastic. Had the queso to start which we were scrapping the bowl by the end it was so good. I had the bacon and cheddar burger which was fantastic. Homemade bun, good size, super juicy, and the egg on top with the bacon was perfect. For an added punch I threw in some grilled onions and bbq sauce. Can’t go wrong here.
