Evergreen Cafe - Buena Vista

I chose the breakfast burger which was hands down the best burger I have ever had. My husband chose a make your own burger and he loved his also. He even claimed it's better than my burgers. Lol We were very impressed that we were able to find a home cooked meal while on our trip.

This place is truly a joint . Barb (the owner), runs the grill at least on the Sunday morning we visited. We sat at the counter and watched the show Barb cooking up every breakfast creation, and her servers navigating the small walkway behind the counter to deliver breakfast to the customers. The food is good. The service can be slow if it 's really busy, but if you sit at the counter, it 's fun to watch and time goes by pretty quick.

After camping in the area for 4 or 5 days, I finally decided to try this restaurant that caught my eye. The breakfast menu had a variety of great options, and I ended up choosing the pig's dish, which was delicious. Personally, I would have preferred a bit more heat with the green chili, but that's just a minor preference. I look forward to trying more items on the menu next time I visit the area. The staff was friendly and welcoming.
