Jan's Family And Lounge - Buena Vista

Food and service was incredible. The chicken steak was the best I had. It really melts in your mouth. The Chille Relleno was also spectacular and unique. Jans is a must!

Definitely a trip back in time. This is the place for comfort food and dishes you don't tend to find on menus any more. Roast turkey with all the trimmings? Check. Liver and onions? Check. Food was good. Portions are generous. But save room for the myriad pies whose crusts are so rich and flaky that's it's probably better not to ask how they are made. The dining room itself needed attention after a day of debris falling to the floor. Staff are friendly.

Locals and tourist keep this place busy. Don 't pass it up. Extra clean! Great atmosphere. Plenty of choices on the menu. Fresh baked pies. Hamburger is delicious. Excellent fries and onion rings. When I asked a team member what would you say about this restaurant and this was her reply... Every one is part of a big family and work as a team. Everyone loves being a part of this family and they call Jan Mom even if they are not related . All the team hussle and keep the customers happy. I had fun just watching how efficient everyone was.

Stopped thru during our last 8hour travel home, looking for a home- cooked meal and was not disappointed. We ate the chicken fried chicken (served with hm mashed potatoes and white gravy) and Angus chopped steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. I give it a 2 thumbs up or 5 stars.

Stop it and read it! We're from Texas and have a few miles from Buena Vista here in Nathrop. We love eating locally, so we asked ourselves and Jan's was the restaurant to go. We went for lunch and served large portions of food. As from the city and have some conversations with our waitress, Jan the owner came by to introduce himself. She was such a doll! Very sweet lady! We couldn't help but tell her how much we were happy about what felt like a house of cooked food. Everything is bigger in Texas and their restaurant along with the friendly and attentive staff made us feel at home! We loved it so much we woke super early at 7AM and ate breakfast to begin our adventurous day. The pancakes. You're pretty huge! Be sure to pass, dine with some fine people and tap these hardworking people! We will definitely be back if we can!
