I could take my sister-in-law for lunch recently and despite some new, sad family events, we found that we could have a really good time here. The lunch sets represented a magnificent value; my sister-in-law ordered the grilled chicken set and I myself ordered the Milanesa...set. I must admit that the Milanesa de ternera was made perfect when it arrived- golden-fried and 'old dente' to bite for taste. We could also have a carafe house white wine.
The grilled lechon (pork) and chivito (goat) were fantastic during our recent visit and everything went down even better with a nice bottle of aromatic Etchart Privado Torrontes moscato white wine from Argentina itself. The place was packed on Christmas Eve but the level of...service was still good.Prices are reasonable and the only possible problem is getting too full. This was the ideal neighbourhood restaurant to go to with my wife and sister-in-law!
I've been going to El Espanol for 20 years and it's still the most delicious, most appreciated food I found in Buenos Aires. It is full of locals, noisy, fun-- and the food is really amazing in proportions, low cost and delicious!
A very lively restaurant with very good food. And if you go to eat between 16 and 19:00, you have a discount!
