La Fachada - Buenos Aires

This is a very small intimate place where people mostly seem to get take away. There was a steady stream of customers and delivery men. The staff are friendly and the service was quick. It has a lovely stove to keep everyone warm on cold days. Wine can be ordered by half bottle. We went twice and although the pizza is lovely I thought the empanadas were the star. My friend and I are vegetarian so we tried all the vegetarian empanadas and I loved them all. I really recommend you go here.

La Fachada offers a great assortment of open and closed empanadas with an exciting variety of fillings at a very reasonable price. We could have made a meal out of sampling empanadas, and I would definitely go back to do that next time. My rating is based on the empanadas and service alone - not the pizza. My only complaint is that the restaurant was a bit too warm, most likely because of the oven.I'm sure the pizza at La Fachada is fine for Argentine tastes, but it just isn't suitable for North American or European palates (far too much dough, too much allegedly mozzarella cheese, no sauce). I will let the porteños review the pizza based on their own specs, but wanted to point this out for other travelers.

I visited many places for pizza and empanadas and this place was the BEST in Palermo. You have a lot of varieties of pizza and unique empanadas! YUM!

Perfect combination! Go to this place, it is on a less crowded road, beautiful atmosphere. Great pizza. Had three empanadas and a pizza. Good food.

Our friends live in BA and this is their way to Spot. We had actually delivered these and they came hot and fresh with a small shape guide, so you knew what to eat. The plumber was the most delicious, but sincere they were all great. If you came for pizza, you will get a few caprese empanadas instead! The Jamon and Rockford were our favorite, but we had both meat (support tip), mushroom and Hawaii- all were delicious. As far as style goes this are the baked, not flaky style of empanadas. Enjoy!
