Oodies Cafe - Bundaberg

Have only had the breakfast option here but it was very good! Came with a cashew mustard sauce which was a nice touch! Staff super friendly, I don't think they get many vegan requests but they're happy to check and advise for you (isn't labelled vegan on menu). There are very limited options, only one breakfast, and one lunch option. Nothing in cake cabinet. Considering the lack of vegan choices in Bundaberg it is nice they have put in effort to cater for vegans with a well thought out and tasty vegan breakfast. Delicious coffee too oat latte!

Only one vegan option really. And the vegan options are like oh we just take this, this and this off, but will charge you the same price for less food kind of options. And the quality of the vegan food is not really great as well. Great coffee and lovely staff

I ordered the veggie breakfast, which was a homemade bean dish; my partner chose the burger, and my friend opted for the salad. Surprisingly, all the meals had essentially the same ingredients. The salad was basically a deconstructed burger without the bread, and the veggie breakfast featured the same components as the burger, except for a differently shaped pumpkin quinoa patty and some beans on the side. All the dishes tasted similar and were quite average. I also dislike when restaurants offer a vegan option by simply removing ingredients instead of replacing them with something else; you end up paying the same price but getting less. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and, upon request, added something back to the meals, but you really have to specifically ask for it.

They do a great job of accommodating vegan ingredients, which is impressive. My only disappointing experience was a few days ago when I had to settle for a gluten-free bun for my burger, and unfortunately, it turned out to be quite bland. The small serving of hot chips was excellent, though. My beagles enjoyed most of the burger, which they loved. This is an update from my previous review on February 14, 2023.

This place has a fantastic and inviting atmosphere. They offer a wide range of vegan options and are more than willing to customize other dishes. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be returning!
