Blue Willow Cafe - Burton

Overall, I have no major complaints about this small country restaurant. My group stopped here for brunch on our way to Austin. Although there was some tension as we were the only African Americans in the restaurant at the time, it was not any more than usual. The service staff were patient and polite, and the quality of the food was exceptional. I would give the food a rating of 5 out of 5.

Today's Sunday brunch experience was disappointing. Despite a busy restaurant with no wait, we waited 45 minutes for our food only to have it arrive cold. The overpowering sauce ruined any chance of enjoying the flavors, and it lingered for hours. The ham was barely visible on the English muffin, and the eggs were a disaster. While the service was pleasant, we were not impressed with the food and it's unlikely we will return. We are sorry for the disappointing experience.

This charming bistro in a small town specializes in creative lunch and breakfast options. The salads are incredible, the sandwiches are delicious, and the breakfast items are top-notch. The outdoor dining area is very peaceful, and the service was excellent even though we were the only table outside. We will definitely be returning to this hidden gem just off of 290, but keep in mind that it is only open Friday through Sunday. Parking is convenient with plenty of street parking available around the cafe.

Nice hidden gem. Stopped for a late breakfast while cruising down 290. Last minute decision to stop as we located the restaurant on Google maps as we looked for a breakfast joint to stop at. Wow! We had the most delicious pancakes (CAKES) we've ever had. Nice atmosphere and great small town service. We live in Houston and we will drive 1 hr to get breakfast there again. PANCAKES, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
