Hot Star Large Fried Chicken

Large fried chicken moist and soft but lacked flavour Hot Star Large Fried Chicken originated from Taiwan, Tai Pei Shi-Lin night markets. It is meant to be a snack, but more of a meal for me considering its size. It is a really small shop front, no seating available, for take away orders only. They sell everything fried from the famous large fried chicken to curly fries and mushrooms. We tried the Original and Spicy Large Fried Chicken, a piece of fried chicken wing and a side of mushrooms. I couldn't wait to try the large fried chicken as it's known for its large fried chicken but I was disappointed. It was juicy, soft and crispy but it lacked flavour. I had the spicy flavour but all I could taste was paprika. It had no other flavours, needed salt. This was also the same for the rest of the items we ordered, lacked flavour. The mushrooms were chunky pieces of battered mushrooms and was cooked well but was greasy. It also needed more salt. The piece of wing was soft but not moist like the large fried chicken. It was a little dry. It also needed more flavour. Verdict: Large fried chicken and mushrooms worth a try.

Overall service was great! My friends love going their, it fills up your stomach plus its gigantic. There are curly fries, fried mushroom and their specialty CHICKEN! I would totally recommend their food! ????

Good for when you're craving something overly spicy, greasy, and overly salty. When I don't have those cravings, I'd never visit this place. Rather visit red lea or KFC where the chicken is seasoned better. I do like the curly fries you can get with the chicken. Reminiscent of festival/food stand food.

Ordered the original chicken. The size was massive and it tasted great.......until I saw that there were parts of the chicken that were not fully cooked
