New Lodge Fisheries - Calderdale

The quality of the food at this restaurant has improved significantly in the past three years. The extended opening hours, as well as the option for outdoor dining during Covid-19 and heatwaves, have likely contributed to increased business. The only restaurants with better fish options are those that do not offer the opportunity to dine in a beautiful park like this one. I typically choose to eat outside on a bench or in my van, but when dining inside, I appreciate the freshly cooked fish every time. A hot cup of tea is the perfect accompaniment to my meal. The staff make sure not to overcook the haddock, ensuring a delicious dining experience each time.

Hi. I use New Lodge at least once a week so i consider myself a good customer. Always get the 'Fish butty with few chips ' option. Recently seems that the fish is made up of two very thin pieces stuck together. This is a shame as fish on previous visits has been very nice. Hope this is a short-term problem. Batter and chips are very nice. Mushy peas and curry sauce very nice. Staff are ok too. One suggestion if i may? Perhaps they could maybe leave the fish a minute to drain when it comes out the fryer.

Picking something up in halifax traveled from middleton bumped in to this place im so glad i did lovely, will be back soon .

Would be nice to have a service with a smile but the woman serving is very miserable unprofessional and rude surely the management should be addressing this as I don’t think I’m the only one who’s complained about the service we received.

First off the girls, 3 of them, were lovely and friendly, smiling and patient. We ordered fish and chips, small fish and chips, for grand daughter and a fish butty plus mushy peas. We sat outside on the tables and it was like being on holiday, delicious fish and chips and my daughter demolished her fish butty. Complete opposite to Ben H reveiew, we all enjoyed the food and would come again.
