The Beltliner - Calgary

We ate dinner at the Beltliner on our first day in Calgary. It was a beautiful evening, just begging for a nice walk and this casual diner-like restaurant is in the middle of the city - next to one of the prettiest public libraries I've ever seen. The staff is very friendly, the music playlist wonderful and the overall atmosphere was upbeat and family-friendly. One highlight was they had a delicious house wine and local beer. The menu was limited but interesting and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. After dinner we strolled through the lush public garden surrounding the library and found a lovely wine bar tucked away on the edge of the grounds. We would absolutely come back to The Beltliner on any return trip to Calgary.

Ate there on a Sunday morning for breakfast, good service , freshly made dishes , we had the mushroom benedict with truffle oil , and the smoked salmon benedict , both about £7 each or less , and both were delicious ,try getting that in London. Also they served very good flat white coffees ( which is in our opinion the best coffee to order ) .the rest of the menu was very good , and we would have been happy to eat here at any time of day. Can thorouhly recommend

The Beltliner is a mid priced restaurant popular with families and those who like meals like meatloaf and shepard pie. The staff was wonder and the food tasty. Especially good for young families. Made sure you read the article on the wall about the car that drove into the restaurant a few years ago. No one hurt but a great story created.

I went to Calgary on my holidays. The morning started with breakfast at a little restaurant called Beltline (which is the street name that it is on). The service was excellent. The food was even better. I had smoked salmon eggs benedict. It came with these potato wedge hash browns. What an amazing dish. The eggs benedict perfect; they even ask if you want your egg soft, medium yet runny etc. and those delectable potatoes. They were thinly sliced, stacked , seasoned and deep fried. So it was crispy on the outside.
